Adopt A Spot Dalmatian Rescue

Fostering

Fostering

Fostering is one of the best ways to get involved in rescue.  We are desperately seeking foster homes.  Foster homes provide a safe haven for shelter Dalmatians until we can find their “forever” homes.  Most of the time it is a matter of life or death.  Fostering can be a very rewarding experience, that you will remember the rest of your life.

Every day we hear of Dalmatians dying in shelters all over the country.  With foster homes unavailable, we must let them go.  The hard truth is that some shelters do not euthanize the animals humanely.  So the dogs must suffer until the end.  When we are able to help, we have all the Dalmatians that we pull evaluated for temperament.  We do not willingly bring any dog into the rescue that is not dog or people friendly.  Any type of aggressive behavior on the dogs part, will be evaluated by an Adopt A Spot representative.  Some Dals have never had love and training and the foster home must provide that type of environment.  Some have lived outside, tied to trees and they my not be housebroken.  All the Dals are or will be totally vetted soon after they arrive.
